Method and sources
Every number comes from a vendor's own pricing or help page, fetched on 2026-10-18, with a verbatim evidence snippet that a daily check re-reads. Anything we could not verify is marked pending and excluded from rankings.

- Monthly cost = plan price (monthly, or the per-month equivalent of annual billing as the vendor states it) + overage beyond the allowance. One user, USD, before tax.
- Units: each plan keeps the vendor's own unit (minutes or characters). Minutes and characters are converted only for vendors that state a rate on their own pages: ElevenLabs ($0.08 per 1,000 characters “~$0.08/minute”) and Murf (its pricing calculator shows 500K characters as about 8h 20m). Speechify (API) sells characters and no rate is stated; WellSaid and Resemble AI sell minutes or seconds. Those vendors therefore appear only in the unit they sell.
- Annual allowances (WellSaid, Murf) are spread evenly over 12 months. Credits that roll over (ElevenLabs paid plans) are not counted.
- A plan that cannot cover your volume and states no overage price is treated as not fitting, never extrapolated.
- Commercial use is a yes/no only where the pricing page says so; otherwise “not stated”, and the plan is left out of commercial-use tables.
- Resemble AI: text-to-speech is billed per second of audio (shown here per minute); rates are read from Resemble's public billing-plans API documented at docs.resemble.ai, because its pricing page now leads with deepfake detection.
- Not included: taxes, voice cloning add-ons, dubbing, speech to text, enterprise quotes, extra seats beyond one user, promotional first-month prices.
- Pending vendors: Play.ht, Lovo (Genny) (details).
- A daily refresh re-checks every evidence snippet and logs any mismatch for a human; data is never changed automatically.
- Rankings are by total monthly cost, then name. Affiliate status is never read by the calculator (tested).
